A new statue of Stephen Hawking was unveiled in the atrium of the Chee-Chun Leung Cosmology Hall. The statue is a personal donation of LeCosPA's former director Pisin Chen.
The new Hawking statue was revealed at the handover ceremony of the LeCosPA directorship on 29 December, 2023. It joins the statues of Albert Einstein, Galileo Galilei, Stephen Hawking, Zhang Heng and Isaac Newton. Like the other statues, this new piece is a collaboration between artist Ching-Tai Chuang and Pisin Chen.
