Chia-Hsien Shen

Chia-Hsien Shen is a theoretical physicist leading research on gravitational waves at LeCosPA.

Biography

After obtaining a BA in Physics from NTU, Chia-Hsien Shen did his PhD at Caltech under the supervision of Clifford Cheung. He was then a postdoctoral researcher at UCLA and UC San Diego. He is currently an assistant professor at National Taiwan University.

He has broad research interests in high-energy physics and quantum field theory. In particular, he applies methods of scattering amplitudes and effective field theory to a wide range of phenomena, which include physics beyond the Standard Model, gravitational waves at the precision frontier, and cosmology. In 2023, he received the Yushan Young Fellowship from the Ministry of Education and the inaugural Frontiers of Science Award.
