Eiichiro Komatsu is a world-renowned cosmologist who currently serves on the Scientific Advisory Committee of LeCosPA.
Biography
Komatsu is a Director of the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics and an Honorary Professor at Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. He was a key member of the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP).
Komatsu's many awards include the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics (together with the WMAP team), the Gruber Cosmology Prize (with the WMAP team), the Nishina Memorial Prize, the Inoue Prize for Science, the Nishinomiya-Yukawa Memorial Prize, the Lancelot M. Berkeley Prize of the American Astronomical Society and the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship.
