The Cosmological Implications of Unitarity

Abstract
The initial conditions of our universe appear to us in the form of a classical probability distribution that we probe with cosmological observations. In the current leading paradigm, this probability distribution arises from a quantum wavefunction of the universe. In this talk, I will discuss how the quantum nature of the theory is imprinted on late-time observables. In particular, I will demonstrate that the requirement of unitary time evolution fixes the analytic structure of the wavefunction and of all the cosmological correlators it encodes.
Biography
Harry Goodhew is a new postdoc at LeCosPA. He did his PhD at the Cambridge University under the supervision of Prof. Enrico Pajer. During his PhD, he did pioneering work on understanding the constraints of unitarity on cosmological correlators.
