Abstract
Fuzzy dark matter (FDM), composed of ultralight bosons with masses around 10-22 - 10-20 eV, exhibits intricate wave-like structures and presents a compelling alternative to conventional cold dark matter. This seminar talk outlines recent breakthroughs from our NTU group. Topics include galactic disc heating, multi-component FDM, soliton condensation, soliton-halo relation, construction and simulation of Milky Way-sized halos, and a novel hybrid numerical scheme for solving the Schrödinger-Poisson equation.
Biography
Hsi-Yu Schive is an Associate Professor at National Taiwan University. Before being appointed at NTU, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at NTU and at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prof. Schive's expertise is in computational astrophysics. He has done influential work on high-resolution simulations of wave dark matter.
